The Digital-is Media Awards
Screen Nation presents a competitive excellence platform showcasing some of the best work being published online by black British digital media creatives and public working across short films, web series, blogs, magazines, social networks and more.
The Digital is Media Awards is an annual online awards platform covering up to 20 categories themed under digital publishing, entertainment and culture.
This year as always will see honours bestowed upon at least one of the UK’s most successful young digital media creatives. Their talents will be honoured as a recipient of the Victor Adebodun Digital Vanguard Award, named in honour of one of the sectors most gifted and much loved young producers, gone too soon. This honour is bestowed upon an individual(s) for exemplary use of digital technology to create and carve a distinctive niche showcasing their outstanding talents whilst creating a unique and original voice. The honour also recognizes a visionary organization or black British Digital media professionals who were first to have created highly original content or lead significant companies and/or platforms providing opportunities to black British talent.
Victor Adebodun was a British director and producer best known for hit UK TV show Venus vs Mars, which was aired on UK satellite channel Sky Living in 2015, and The Intent movie franchise. He was also co-founder of Purple Gecko production company. (passed April 2018)
This year will see honours bestowed upon at least one of the UK’s most exciting digital creative organisations or entrepreneurs. The individual(s) or platform will be honoured as a recipient of the Screen Nation Digital Achievement Award for exemplary use of digital technology to create and carve a distinctive niche resulting in a world-class digital career or business. The honour is also granted to a top creative Digital media producer/distributor/publisher or black British Digital media professional who has created highly original content that has found mainstream attention.
For the first time, the 6th Digital is Media Awards and After Party 2020 goes Virtual and will stream on all screen nation websites and across social media and partner platforms to a potential subscriber base of over 2.1m 7.00pm – 11.30pm as a fun celebration of diversity and innovation in UK digital media. The event will be hosted ‘behind closed doors’ by an exciting urban digital media talent of the moment who will be joined in the presentation by a host of hot young personalities from the worlds of film, TV, media, sports, social media, sports and culture.
